Frequently Asked Questions

The BedRug is the most unique and innovative truck bed liner on the market. Despite the plush appearance, the BedRug is NOT carpet but rather 100% polypropylene (basically plastic), making it rugged enough to stand up to any punishment you put it through and at the same time, it's gentle enough to protect your most precious cargo. From gravel and cinder blocks one day to antiques and camping equipment the next, the BedRug handles it all.
BedTred capitalizes on the positive qualities of a spray-in liner without all of the negative limitations. It is designed with 3/4" of closed cell foam padding to provide impact resistance not available with spray-in liners. This protects your truck bed, your cargo and your knees when climbing in and out of the bed. The textured TPO composite shell is UV resistant so it won't chalk or fade like many spray-in liners and it provides superior skid protection for your cargo. The non-abrasive backing will not damage the finish of your truck bed.
The BedRug Mat is the most innovative bed mat in the market today. Despite the plush appearance, the BedRug Mat is 100% polypropylene (essentially plastic) not carpet. This makes it rugged enough to stand up to any punishment you put it through yet gentle enough to protect your most precious cargo. From gravel and cinder blocks to antiques and camping equipment, the BedRug Mat handles it all.
Drop-in plastic liners certainly offer impact resistance however they have many inherent limitations you should be aware of. For starters, they require drilling holes in the bed to properly secure the liner to your truck. We've all seen the stray bedliners laying in the median of the interstate, a consequence of not securing the liner properly. In addition, plastic liners shift and vibrate over time causing scuffs and abrasions to your truck bed finish. The BedRug uses closed-cell foam which is non-abrasive and will not scratch the finish of your truck and installation is done without drilling holes. Put simply, the BedRug can be used for years and when removed, your bed looks like it did the day you bought the truck. Of course there is also the issue of skid resistance. Most drop-in liners offer little to no skid protection. Hit the gas pedal and your cargo goes crashing toward your tailgate. Hit the brake and it slides forward toward the cab. The BedRug grips your cargo and helps to hold it in place. Drop-in liners are not only rough on your cargo but they are also rough on your knees when climbing in to access your cargo. The BedRug offers ¾" of foam padding to provide you with a loading surface that is simply unmatched by any other liner.
Spray-in liners have become very popular as an alternative to the drop-in style liners. While a spray-in liner won't scuff your bed with day to day use the way a plastic liner does, the entire bed finish of the truck must be scuffed with a sanding wheel or an etching solvent applied in order for the spray liner to adhere to the bed. That's right; you are actually destroying the paint finish your "liner" is intended to "protect". In some cases, this process will void the factory paint and corrosion protection. In addition, spray-in liners must be applied by a technician and therefore the quality of the job will vary from shop to shop. Let us not overlook the final and most important point which is that a spray-in liner does nothing to protect the bed of your truck leaving your bed susceptible to dents, scratches, chips, fading and oxidizing leaving a permanent reminder of the lack of overall bed protection.
Under use, hard bedliners vibrate against the paint they're supposed to protect, actually scuffing it and ruining the paint's shiny, rich finish. The BedRug /BedTred liner, however, is backed by a non-abrasive foam, which will not abrade the paint. Your truck bed will always look as good as the day you bought it! The BedRug/BedTred liner is designed to protect your valuable cargo, like sports equipment and camping gear, too - not just your truck.

Much like a life vest, BedRug's closed-cell polymer construction can't hold water - it runs right off. The paint in the bed of your truck is designed to shed water the same way the rest of the paint on your vehicle does. The BedRug works in conjunction with your factory drain holes to remove any residual moisture. Unlike spray-in liners which scuff the paint before application and drop-in liners that can scuff and scratch the bed with use, the BedRug's non-abrasive backing will not compromise the integrity of your paint and in turn will not cause your truck bed to rust.

Aren't you tired of cargo scattering all around your truck bed whenever you hit a pedal? Drop in liners and sprays in liners are also brutal on your knees when crawling into the bed to access cargo. Our mats solve these two basic inherent issues with your existing liner and are constructed of the same, durable material as the complete BedRug liner at an economical price point.
Rubber mats have been around for years and are appealing because of the anti-skid features they offer. But because they are made of rubber they are susceptible to dry rot when exposed to the elements, and they provide very little protection for the finish of the truck bed chaffing and scuffing your truck bed finish. The BedRug Mat uses closed-cell foam which is non-abrasive and will not scratch the finish of your truck. Put simply, the BedRug Mat can be used for years and when removed, your bed looks like it did the day you bought the truck. The BedRug Mat grips your cargo and helps to hold it in place. You'll be able to feel the real difference when you crawl into your bed to access cargo – our mats are simply unmatched when it comes to comfort.
There are a couple of important features that separate the BedRug Mat from other foam style mats on the market. First is the material. The BedRug Mat is constructed of closed-cell polypropylene foam whereas other are made of polyethylene foam. The difference is that polyethylene is susceptible to shrinking when exposed to UV and exterior elements. Secondly and most importantly is the installation. The BedRug Mat installs without damage to your truck bed. Standard installation of other foam mats requires drilling into the truck bed to permanently install snaps. Lastly is the design. The BedRug Mat is the only mat on the market that has die cut grooves to fit the ribs of the bed. Other foam mats are flat on bottom regardless of the type of liner it installed over. In short, not all foam liners are created equal and we are so sure the BedRug Mat is the superior choice that we are the only foam mat to offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY and a 30-DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
Yes. In addition to the BedRug Mat you can also purchase an optional BedRug Tailgate Mat to complete your setup.
Simply stated, our floor liner kits are the most unique and innovative Jeep® floor liners on the market. These fully custom-molded die cut systems are designed to replace your 1997-until now Jeep® Wrangler TJ’s OEM carpet. Despite the plush appearance, the BedRug material is NOT carpet, it’s 100% polypropylene (basically plastic), giving your Jeep® that high-end plush look while at the same time being durable enough to stand up to water, mud and rocks, making it the ideal flooring solution for both the daily driver and hardcore off-roader. The BedTred Floor Liner capitalizes on the positive qualities of a spray-in/roll-on liner without all of the negative limitations. It is designed with 1/4" of closed cell foam padding to provide impact resistance and cushion that isn’t provided by spray-in/roll-on liners. This protects your Jeep® floor from wear and tear while providing a high-end rugged appearance you are looking for. The textured TPO composite shell is UV resistant so it won’t chalk or fade like many spray-in/roll-on liners and because it is waterproof, you don’t have to worry about mold or mildew as with factory carpet. The BedTred Liner is easily removed for power washing or can be left in the vehicle if you choose, making clean up a breeze.
Traditional carpet replacement kits are just that, carpet. Over time you will face the same issues with any traditional carpet kit as you did with your factory carpet such as mold, mildew, dry rot and unpleasant odors. Replacement carpet kits can be difficult to install and may require some modification to get them to fit properly. The BedRug/BedTred floor liners uses closed-cell foam that has been molded to fit your specific vehicle, making installation a breeze. The material will not absorb moisture, making it impervious to mold, mildew and dry rot. The ¼" foam provides a level of sound dampening far superior to traditional carpet and all kits come standard with an additional heat shield used around the transmission tunnel to protect your feet and legs from the heat generated by your engine, transmission and exhaust. The BedRug/BedTred floor liner will last for years and continue to look great even under the most unforgiving conditions.
Spray-in liners have become very popular as an alternative to bare factory floor pans. While a spray-in/roll-on liner won’t mold or mildew like traditional carpet, they can be rather costly as they require substantial prep work to be installed properly. In addition, spray-in/roll-on do little to protect your feet and legs from the engine heat that builds up when you are pushing your Jeep® to the limits on the trails. All BedTred Liners come with additional heat shields for the transmission tunnel keeping you safe from the high temperatures and provides an outstanding noise insulator as well. The BedTred Liner is the only liner that protects both you AND your Jeep®.
Yes. Not only are our liners designed to allow access to your rear seat and seatbelts, we have taken all of the guess work out of it for you. The BedRug liner comes with the factory seat brackets and seatbelt locations marked on the back so you’ll know exactly where to make your cuts. (Please note there is a difference between 97-02 & 03-06 seat brackets so make sure to take care to trim the correct cut lines.)
Your Jeep® can typically generate a tremendous amount of heat around the transmission tunnel area through the engine, exhaust and transmission, especially when being pushed to the limit on the trails. Both BedRug and BedTred floor liner kits come with (2) additional heat shields, (1) drivers side and (1) passenger side, for added protection to reflect radiant heat sources. These easily install using a self-adhesive backing with release liner and we’ve provided indicator marks on the backside of the parts to help identify where these should be installed. Constructed of fiberglass material backed with a layer of aluminium reflective foil these shields can handle direct, continuous temperature of up to 400°F.
Many aftermarket or OEM style floor mats will work in conjunction with the BedRug (carpet like) material. With this said, mats are not needed as our material is designed to take on even the harshest of conditions. Floor mats are NOT RECOMMENDED for use with the BedTred (rubber like) material. Rubber nibs traditionally used for retention on most mats will not grip on this material and will have the tendency to slide. Rest assured the BedTred material is designed to take on whatever you can throw at it and mats are not needed! If you choose to install mats on the BedRug material, before starting the vehicle and every time before use, check the operation of the accelerator (gas) pedal, brake pedal and (if the vehicle has one) clutch pedal to ensure that the floor mat does not interfere with their movement through their full range of motion. Furthermore, check to ensure that there are no loose objects in the vehicle that have, or could possibly become, lodged in a position that interferes with the operation of the accelerator, brake or (if equipped) clutch pedal.
